Registration Guide
Welcome to the registration form for the 76th Council Meeting of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA 2024)!
Please read through the guide below before registering.
Who May Attend the Council Meeting
1. APAA Members
There are two categories of APAA Members, namely Individual Members and Corporate Members.
An Individual Member is an individual member in good standing of the relevant Recognized Group.
A Corporate Member is a corporate member in good standing of the relevant Recognized Group. It may register up to 3 Representatives for the Council Meeting. Please add “01”, “02”, and “03” following your Corporate Member ID (e.g., PH202401, PH202402, PH202403) to proceed with registration. A Representative is a person who is qualified to be an individual Member of the relevant Recognised Group. If the proposed attendee is not so qualified, then he/she may be registered as an Accompanying Office Person (AOP).
You will need your Member ID to proceed with registration. If you do not know your Member ID, please contact your recognized group administrator.

2. Non APAA Members who fall within one of the following categories:
- Accompanying Office Personnel (AOP) – Each APAA Member is entitled to register up to two (2) AOPs who are non-qualified persons, as defined by the statutes and regulations of APAA. An AOP is a person who is not professionally qualified for membership in APAA, who provides support for the office of a Member and accompanies the Member to a Meeting.
For AOP ID, please use this format: Member ID-AOP1 (Ex. PH2024AOP1, PH2024AOP2).
- Observer – For non-members who wish to attend the Council Meeting for the first time, you must first qualify as an Observer.
- More than one APAA-registered Observer from the same Firm may participate in this Council Meeting.
- You will need your Observer ID to proceed with the registration. If you do not know your Observer ID, please contact the APAA 2024 Secretariat.
- Note: Your Observer ID is not transferable.

- Accompanying Family Person (AFP) – A family member of an APAA Member or Observer registered to attend.
For AFP ID, please use this format: Member ID-AFP1 (Ex. PH2024AFP1, PH2024AFP2…).

Note:
- Please ensure that your registration fee is received in full by APAA 2024 Secretariat within the applicable registration period at 23:59 GMT+08:00 (Manila Time). If the full registration fee is not timely received, APAA 2024 OrgCom has the discretion to update the registration fee or decline the entire registration.
- The registration fee will be charged in United States Dollars (USD).
- All bank/remittance charges and any associated charges should be borne by the participant and will not be deducted from the total amount remitted.

Earlier Closing of Registration Without Pre-Notice
Registration for the Council Meeting may be closed at any time before the end of the official timeline if the optimum capacity of our facilities is reached, without pre-notice.
Methods of Payment
Registration will be confirmed upon the receipt of payment. Please ensure that your registration fee is received by the APAA 2024 Secretariat in full within the applicable registration period at 23:59 GMT+08:00 (Manila Time). If the full registration fee is not timely received, APAA 2024 OrgCom has the discretion to update the registration fee or decline the entire registration. Below are the accepted payment methods:

Registration fees may be paid through credit card via our online payment platform. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Credit Card must be 3DS supported.

Substitutions, Cancellations, and Refunds
Substitutions
All paid registrations are transferable to another individual who is eligible to the Council Meeting until 18 November 2024. To process the substitution, please submit a notice to the APAA 2024 Secretariat (secretariat@registration.apaa2024.com) indicating your registration details and the details of the substitute.
Cancellations
Cancellation of a paid registration is allowed subject to the following terms and conditions:
- No cancellation fee will apply for all cancellations within the Early Bird Registration Period; provided that bank charges and transaction fees will be deducted from the refund:
- Members: 07 June – 21 August 2024
- Observers: 21 July – 04 September 2024
- A cancellation fee of twenty-five percent (25%) of the paid registration fee shall apply to all cancellations within the following dates:
- Members: 22 August 2024 – 04 September 2024
- Observers: 05 September 2024 – 27 September 2024
- A cancellation fee of fifty percent (50%) shall apply to cancellations within the following dates:
- Members: 05 September 2024 – 20 October 2024
- Observers: 28 September 2024 – 20 October 2024
- There will be no refund for all cancellations made after 20 October 2024.
- Full payment of the registration fee shall be charged to those who register but fail to show up for any portion of the event.
To process the cancellation, please submit a notice to the APAA 2024 Secretariat secretariat@apaa2024.com indicating your registration and payment details.
Refunds
All Refunds will be processed starting 23 November 2024.
Insurance, Loss or Damage
Registration fees do not include personal insurance of any kind. It is highly recommended that you obtain individual travel insurance of your choice. APAA, IPAP and APAA 2024 OrgCom is not responsible for a participant’s failure to secure the appropriate travel insurance.This insurance should be purchased in your country of origin prior to travel.
APAA, IPAP and APAA 2024 OrgCom are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct or consequential, arising out of cancellation of, participation in, or registration for this Council Meeting. Participation in this Council Meeting and all events organized is at the risk of the participant.
Letter of Invitation (for application of entry visa to Philippines)
- All visitors to the Philippines must have a valid passport and visa. The Philippines grants visa-free entry to passport holders of certain countries while requiring a visa to others. Check if your nationality will require a visa for entry to the Philippines through the Philippine Embassy website. If still uncertain about the entry requirements into the Philippines, please contact your nearest Philippine embassy or a consulate as soon as possible.
- To request an invitation letter, please email the APAA 2024 Secretariat at secretariat@apaa2024.com an Invitation Letter Request together with a copy of the photo page of your passport. The Invitation Letter will be sent to the concerned participant upon completion of registration and full payment of the registration fee. The Invitation Letter is NOT a commitment of IPAP or the APAA 2024 OrgCom to provide financial assistance to any participant. Expenses incurred are the sole responsibility of each participant.
Harassment Statement
APAA is committed to maintaining a Council Meeting environment in which people are treated with dignity, decency and respect. As such, APAA does not condone any form of inappropriate behavior such as harassment, unlawful discrimination or oppression. APAA will take appropriate action if we receive complaints directed to the APAA President at secretariat@apaa.asia. Complaints will be treated on a strictly confidential basis.
Non-Official Business Functions / Private Party Notice
APAA advises that all functions outside the official program are strictly forbidden during the period of the APAA Council Meeting from November 18-21, 2024. The only exceptions are Private Functions which are held between 18:00 to midnight on Excursion Day, November 20, 2024. (“the Permitted Period”).
“Private Function” means any function that does not and/or is not intended primarily to promote or market the business of the persons hosting the function. For the avoidance of doubt, Private Functions outside the Permitted Period are not allowed.

We’ve curated a list of hotels conveniently located near the event venues. Preferential rates are available for paid participants. Special booking links will be sent upon verification of payment.
